Marvin's Room, a darkly comic story of family commitment amidst despair, opens at Neighborhood House on March 22.
When Bessie, a caregiver for her aunt and father, is diagnosed with leukemia, she asks her estranged sister Lee to be a potential bone marrow donor. Lee travels to visit her family with her two troubled sons, and finds her ailing father Marvin bedridden and unable to speak. The reunion airs resentments, uncovers motives, and considers the importance of life -- no matter its length -- in the omniscient presence of death.
ISIS Productions brings Scott McPherson's Drama Desk Award winning play to Neighborhood House from March 22 through April 18. The show will run Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m., and on Sundays at 8 p.m.
