Mission of the Preservation Trust

The Christ Church Preservation Trust, a non-profit organization, was created in 1965 to ensure the preservation, restoration and maintenance of historic Christ Church, Neighborhood House and the Christ Church Burial Ground. Of extraordinary historical importance, Christ Church has been deemed a National Historic Landmark. Our properties do not, however, receive any federal funding.

Since 1965, the Trust has raised $15 million for the preservation of the Christ Church historic properties. Capital projects have included preserving and reopening the Christ Church Burial Ground, renovating the Neighborhood House, creating an archive for historical church materials, and installing fire protection systems in the church.

Ways to give

   You may make a gift through PayPal to give a tax-deductible gift directly to Christ Church Preservation Trust. You may use a debit/credit card, or choose to transfer from a bank account, you can set up a recurring gift as well.
2. Automatic bank draft via online banking
   You can also set up a regular check from your bank account to Christ Church Preservation Trust through an automatic Bill Pay. Choose Christ Church Preservation Trust as a payee, with the address 20 N. American St., Philadelphia, PA 19106. Here, you set the amount of your gift and a recurring schedule, e.g., weekly, monthly. With this option, the bank sends your financial commitment on a regular schedule.

Vision

To enhance the visitor experience, the Trust has launched plans to expand the scope of services offered. These plans include innovative and interpretive ways to bring to life the history of Christ Church and its significant role in shaping the early direction of this nation.

Capital Campaign

Since 2016, the Trust has been engaged in a capital campaign to restore the 1754 Christ Church steeple. Phase One of this project -- the interior restoration of the steeple and its supporting tower -- finished in spring 2018. Before beginning Phase 2, exterior restorations, the Trust chose to increase its available cash flow for the work (estimated at $2.4 million). In September 2018, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania awarded our campaign a $1 million matching grant from its Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RAC-P). Buoyed by this announcement, The Color Guard of the Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution made a $600,000 donation.
