Every year 250,000 visitors come to Christ Church and the Burial Ground to see the magnificent Georgian building and learn about its notable history.

To enhance the visitor experience, the Trust has launched plans to expand the scope of services offered. These plans include innovative and interpretive ways to bring to life the history of Christ Church and its significant role in shaping the early direction of this nation.

Capital Campaign

Since 2016, the Trust has been engaged in a capital campaign to restore the 1754 Christ Church steeple. Phase One of this project — the interior restoration of the steeple and its supporting tower — finished in spring 2018. Before beginning Phase 2, exterior restorations, the Trust chose to increase its available cash flow for the work (estimated at $2.4 million). In September 2018, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania awarded our campaign a $1 million matching grant from its Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RAC-P). Buoyed by this announcement, The Color Guard of the Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution made a $600,000 donation.

Christ Church Preservation Trust is actively seeking patriotic individuals, foundations and societies to help us meet the final $875,000 needed.
